Michel GASCARD

First international Ballet Guest-Master Teacher invited by the PDTFR.

Image-1-2.jpg

Since his professional debut at the age of 16, this gifted youngster already knew that dancing requires a complete gift for art. He learned to discover its infinite depth at the same time as the amount of work related to the acquisition of the technique, and the density of various investments necessary for the enlargement of the personality. “My Master Maurice Béjart taught me everything: to live, to love, to be tolerant, curious and respectful of others. I then became aware of the quality of life, the moral and intellectual qualities that this requires.

His charisma and his influence made me want to constantly surpass myself, to be demanding with myself and with the people I love, the desire to read, to watch, to listen , to walk, to travel.

With him, I learned to live in a permanent excitement, a joy of discovery, a desire to be sunny.

Because the dance in its complexity and its difficulty must remain a luminous asceticism.

Today, my mission is to offer with passion, conviction and fidelity the transmission of my 48 years of unique experiences in the dance world”.e texte et me modifier. C'est facile.

Edouard HUE

Cie Beaver Dam

Contemporary Guest Artist invited by the PDTFR.

Capture d’écran 2024-07-20 à 11.45.54.png

Edouard Hue is first and foremost a dancer who puts his physicality at the service of pure movement. Trained at the Ballet junior de Genève, he then experimented with the extremes with choreographers Hofesh Shechter, Damien Jalet and Oliver Dubois as a performer.

He quickly developed his own style, a mixture of mastered virtuosity and mischievous spontaneity.

His appropriation of movement and charisma have honored him with the 2019 Swiss Dance Award “Exceptional Dancer”.

Inspired by his professional experiences, it is naturally that he turns to choreography which will allow him to satisfy his quest for independence and to develop a choreographic language.

In 2014 Edouard Hue created the Beaver Dam Company, a Swiss-French company based in Geneva and Annecy. His repertoire composed of solo, duets and group pieces offers artistic diversity, produced internationally and aimed at children and the general public.

At the beginning of his career, he was supported by Pro-Helvetia – Swiss Foundation for Culture, which set up a mentorship with Olivier Dubois for Meet me halfway.

His solo FORWARD is part of the Programme Danse & Dramartugie initiated by Philippe Saire – Théâtre Sévelin 36. Edouard Hue is artist in residence at L’Auditorium Seynod – Scène Régionale Auvergne Rhône-Alpes from 2016 to 2021.

In 2021 he creates his signature piece All I Need which reflects the choreographic singularity of his body research. The premiere of the show was part of the programming of the Festival de Danse de Cannes and represents a turning point in the choreographer’s career. That same year, he created his first piece for young audiences, entitled Yumé, in which he used a dynamic set design for the first time, a major component of the piece’s poetry.

For several years, the choreographer has been regularly asked to create pieces for existing, well-known companies.

This has been the case with Yoann Bourgeois’ Requiem for which Edouard Hue created the part of Domine Jesu (Grenoble-France), No Matter for Gauthier Dance Company (Stuttgart-Germany), Titan for Ballet Basel (Basel-Switzerland), and L’Oiseau de Feu in 2023 for the Opéra du Grand Avignon.

Some of his works have also been remounted and revisited for professional companies and dance schools such as the Frontier Danceland Company (Singapore), Le Marchepieds (Lausanne-Switzerland), SEAD (Salzburg-Austria), l’École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (Montreal-Canada)
